Scenario's

There are several scenario's available for Star Fleet Warlord.  Simply click on the links below for more details:-

Historical - Two teams of 6 battle it out, each player controlling a different race.

Die Hard - Customised games aimed at experienced players.

PAIRS GAME:
This is a standard game except that people join with a friend. You set up the map with those two Corps directly adjacent to each other, instead of the usual checkerboard pattern, e.g.:

- X X - X X
- - - - - -
- X X - X X
- - - - - -
- X X - X X
- - - - - -

Then victory is based on team stats. Your team has to control 150 sites or 14 sectors. Teammates can't attack each other (they automatically bounce) but can use the EG order (from historical games) to transfer resources each turn. If one player is killed, the other can capture his sites, but still has to fight his ships. The team still gets credit for any sites the dead position still controls. Note that victory scores may change depending on the map size used and players involved.

THE NOMAD GAME :
This popular US variant finds players with no Home Offices at all! Every sector is a wild sector, and contains one of the really nasty monsters, as well as a pirate base. You'll start with a Warp Gate as usual, somewhere near the middle of your sector (in an empty hex) with 1000 EPs, not 300; however, loans aren't available, and since you don't have an HO, you won't have that 100 EPs coming in every turn like you're used to. Since you don't have an HO, you can only buy ships at Warp Gates, and if you lose them all, you can't build ships any more! Thus, we recommend you buy at least one extra WG during your build (perhaps two). Losing all your WGs and other ships is the only way to get knocked out of this game completely, as you have no Home Office to lose.

TIMESHIFT GAME:
This is usually referred to as a +5 turn TimeShift game (meaning the game starts in Y170, not Y165). Other than this relatively minor change, there are no other alterations to this game. Of course, we should note that since you start after the ES order already comes out, you'll need to use an EC order on your first turn if you want to avoid having someone spy on you. (You could do it on the build, also, but no one is going to know your Corp# to spy on you before Turn #1 is over.) Please ensure that you mark your Initial Build form as TIMESHIFT if you wish to join this game.

WEEKLY:
This scenario is aimed mainly at email players, though anyone who thinks that they can keep up with the deadlines can join. The game is played in a 4x4 all-wild galaxy, and features just 8 players. Victory is attained when one player gains just 3 sector bonuses. No late turns will be accepted so if you orders do not arrive by the deadline then a 'waived turn' will be run.

SAMPLE GAME:
This has been a very successful scheme to attract new players to the game. Anyone who now purchases a copy of the rulebook will automatically be enrolled in this 5 turn mini-game for one player. The map is 2*2 sectors wide and they have five turns to conquer as many sites as possible. At the end of the five turns their score is taken and added to a rankings table. If they wish to continue at the end of this time they can do so at a cost of £1 per turn. Existing players can also try their luck if they wish (hey, everyone wants their name in lights!) at a cost of £3 for the whole five turns game. The Rankings Table will be listed in Pagoda Press and also updated on our website.
